Airwolf

Air wolf / X-wing Fighter Tournament

Those expecting a chopper game based on the popular series from the eighties may be disappointed, because Airwolf, also known as X-wing tournament is a dog fight styled game, where you control an X-wing fighter, as we know them from the Star Wars movies.

The objective is simple: take your opponent out as fast as you can, but stay within the playing field. If you fly off course your fighter takes damage, and too much damage leads to your destruction!

Airwolf is played using the arrow keys to control the fighter’s movements, and “CTRL” for shooting; it is played on a grid like playing field to which the game is confined.

Both fighters are equipped with a force field, able to take some hits before the fighter can be destroyed, and to make it more challenging these force fields do regenerate, so if it takes too long before you hit your opponent again, the initial damage may already have been repaired and you are back at square one!

In order to advance to the next level you simply have to shoot down your opponent. Airwolf is a single player game in which your opponent always is the computer, who will become more advanced at each level.

Airwolf is a well designed shooter, with decent graphics and excellent sound.

May the “Force” be with you!
